Pipe Screams concert to be held again

The 4th annual Pipe Screams concert will be held at 3:36 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at the United Methodist Church. This annual treat fills the sanctuary with sounds of organ music and choral music. Costumes are worn by all the participants and audience is welcomed to wear a costume also.

Performers this year will include American Guild of Organists Robert Tewes, Gail Thurnau, Eileen Nelson Ness and The Stray Notes, Albert Lea Cantori, Katie Fick, Sue Jorgensen and Mary Wayne.

There will also be pumpkin and Halloween trivia. Songs will include “Toccata” in d minor by Bach, “The Squirrel,” “Toccata” by Boellmann, and “Toccata” in d minor by Reger. The “Monster Mash,” “Three Little Fishies,” music from “The Wizard of Oz” and “Cats,” and of course, pumpkin carols will also be heard.

There will be a special moment for children of all ages who bring their teddy bears — a teddy bear parade. Come early for a good seat. There will be popcorn and apple cider available from 3 to 3:30 p.m. The concert is for kids of all ages and is free and open to the public. An offering will be taken for the Organ Voicing Project.
