The St. Paul man accused of fatally stabbing an Albert Lea man and critically injuring his wife was ordered Tuesday to have no contact with his wife.

A Ramsey County District Court judge ordered a domestic abuse no contact order — simply known as DANCO — between Pah Ber, 48, the man accused of the stabbings, and his wife, Paw Pree, 40. Pree was ultimately blinded after Ber allegedly stabbed her in the eyes.

The order came during a hearing in front of Ramsey County District Judge Mark Ireland, in which Ber was also approved for a public defender.

Ber is being held in the Ramsey County Jail. The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office has requested a $1 million bail.

The stabbings took place on Saturday in St. Paul’s North End neighborhood.
