PM Report: Fire destroys building

A fire destroyed an outbuilding at 67194 Freeborn County Road 46 in Alden Monday morning.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports indicate the building was the size of a two-car garage and contained wood.

Sheriff’s detective Chuck Malepsy said the building was a total loss.

Alden and Conger fire departments responded to the fire.

 

Bus in minor crash

A car crashed into a school bus Monday morning near the corner of Freeborn County Road 26 and 235th Street north of Hayward.

According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, the bus was hit on the side by another vehicle.

No one was injured. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Man arrested for DWI

Albert Lea police arrested Ruben Guerra Munguia Jr. for third-degree driving while intoxicated, test refusal, driving after cancellation, no insurance and speeding after a traffic stop at 10:01 p.m. Monday near the intersection of East College Street and Elizabeth Avenue, according to reports.

 

Apartment burglarized

An apartment at 909 Janson St. was reportedly burglarized at 12:06 p.m. Monday, reports stated.

 

Trailer stolen

A jet ski trailer was reported stolen from Jensen Electric, 1300 E. Main St., at 1:58 p.m. Monday, according to reports.

 

School bus violations reported

Two school bus stop arm violations were reported Monday in Albert Lea.

In the first, a vehicle reportedly went through a bus stop sign at 8:44 a.m. near the intersection of Hammer Road and Grand Avenue.

In the second, a small beige or tan four-door car reportedly went through a bus stop sign at 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Glenview Drive.
