The Humane Society of Freeborn County, in partnership with Iams, presents a Home 4 the Holidays adoption event starting Saturday. The goal for the nation is to find homes fro 1.5 million pets. The local Humane Society would like 30 pets to be adopted during the event.

The event continues through Dec. 31 with adoption costs of $75 for dogs and $25 for cats and kittens.

The Humane Society is at 101 James Avenue in Albert Lea. Hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
