Masons and county fire association support “The Beat Goes On”

The Albert Lea Masons Western Star Lodge No. 26 and Freeborn County Fire Association both recently made donations to “The Beat Goes On.”

“The Beat Goes On,” a fundraiser, is a partnership between Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, Naeve Health Care Foundation and the community to raise money for crucial, cutting-edge cardiac care equipment for the ambulance services, cardiology and cardiac rehab departments at the medical center, including portable automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for area first responders.
The Masons raise funds through a monthly pancake breakfast the second Sunday of every month and donate to charities like “The Beat Goes On” as well as scholarships.
The county fire association is focusing on the AED portion of the fundraiser, which has a goal of purchasing 38 AEDs, for first responders throughout Freeborn County, at a cost of $79,000.
