Here are highlights in history for Dec. 20, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1988 — Members of Albert Lea’s Company A of the Minnesota National Guard collected clothing items for earthquake victims in Armenia.

1978 — A fire the previous day destroyed the Rasco Products Co. building in Clarks Grove. Firemen from Geneva and Hollandale assisted the Clarks Grove department with this blaze.

1948 — Several boxcars of shelled corn donated by area farmers to the Christian Rural Overseas Program left the city, destined for Europe to feed war survivors.
