Weather to take some turns

It looks like the weather today and Thursday will throw some curveballs.
The National Weather Service says steady light rain and drizzle is melting snow across much of Minnesota today. With highs in the upper 30s, even 40 for Albert Lea, temperatures are too warm for freezing rain. Heavy showers will replace the light rain for part of today across southern Minnesota.
There is a chance of rain turning to snow overnight, with less than a half inch of accumulation. On Thursday winds are forecast to pick up to 16-22 mph, with gusts up to 30. The high on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, is 29 degrees.
The weather is forecast to return to somewhat normal Friday, with a high of 26 degrees and a 5 mph wind.
