You Can Help

The following are some of the opportunities for volunteers of any age currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.

Senior Resources/AARP Aide: Phone receptionists are needed for the AARP federal and state tax preparation. They will schedule appointments for individuals coming to file taxes in 2012. Volunteer receptionists can select the days or half days that work best starting Jan. 6 with a training of the processes to be used. This assistance makes all the difference for moderate to limited income households. Call Stumme at 377-7433, Senior Resources, to schedule your training.

Martin Luther King Breakfast and Program: The 24th annual Martin Luther King Day program and breakfast will be held at Bethany Hall, First Lutheran Church from 7 to 8 a.m. on Jan. 16. You can make it a Day of Service rather than a day off in this new year, by helping as a greeter or to serve the continental breakfast and clean up. Please call Pat at 377-7433 to volunteer.
