According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call of shots fired just after 4:15 p.m. from McDonald’s, 6874 W. Frontage Road in Medford. When the deputies arrived, two automobiles left the scene.

The first, which was wanted in connection with the shooting, left and traveled south on Frontage Road. The second, occupied by two victims, traveled to a Medford gas station, where they were found later by deputies.

The victims reportedly told the deputies that while they were parked at the McDonald’s, a white male known to them came over to the vehicle with a gun and fired a number of shots.

The victim sped out of the parking lot, and the suspect left shortly after.

Anyone with information about Krieg’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Steele County Sheriff’s Office at 507-451-8232 or the TIP line at 866-878-7964.

The incident remains under investigation by the Steele County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
