The Freemond Madson Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 447 met at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 for a joint potluck supper with the post members. Each group dispersed to their own meetings after the meal. President Eunice Hatleli called the auxiliary meeting to order at 7 p.m.
Secretary Lynda Vermadahl read the minutes of the last meeting and Treasurer Beverly Boone read the treasurer’s report. Both were approved. Other directives and correspondence were also read by other chairmen.
A draping of the charter ceremony was held for auxiliary sisters Hazel Wangen and Priscilla (Perky) Smith and past First District President Betty Freij. Blessed be their memory.
The names of Dorothy Boettcher of Albert Lea and Mary Carlson, a transfer form Mankato were presented for membership and both were accepted and welcomed.
Donations reported were $100 to the Salvation Army food shelf and $50 to the hospice tree at the medical center.
Door prize was won by Marcia Petersen.
Next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Legion Hall.
