James Sechrest, Albert Lea

Memorial services for James D. (Butch) Sechrest, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Richard Spande will officiate. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

James died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. He was 68 years of age.

James was born Jan. 28, 1943, in Jacksonville, Fla., the son of James J. and Katherine (Williams) Sechrest. He attended public school in Brainerd. James made his home in Albert Lea for the past 20 years. He was employed at Cedar Valley (Alpha Enterprise) and enjoyed the SPIRE program.

James loved listening to music, being sung to, watching movies and musicals, going to the ARC prom and the county fair. He loved to eat Twinkies, cotton candy and tacos and attending the grill outs every year. He liked to arm wrestle with the staff and as a youngster loved to pull pranks.

James is survived by one brother, Robert Sechrest of Bremerton, Wash., and his many friends at REM.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
