Fountain Centers received the Freeborn County Partners In Prevention 2011 Community Partner award.

Fountain Centers has been involved in community-wide substance abuse prevention for more than 35 years. In 2006, they were at the table when the community decided to combine all the smaller committees working on substance abuse prevention into one coalition, now Freeborn County Partners In Prevention. Fountain Centers continues to be at the table and actively participating in the community wide effort to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs by youth and over time adults in Freeborn County.

Following are some of the collaborative projects which Fountain Centers has partnered with FC-PIP: sponsoring 20 middle school students to attend the Minnesota Twins game, “Rally for Recovery” event, speaking presentation to middle school students about substance abuse, speaking presentation at the Alternative Learning Center regarding substance abuse, collaborating to host the first Drug/Alcohol Prevention and Recovery Resource Fair, participating as a judge for the youth substance abuse prevention poster contest and volunteering at the FC-PIP booth at the Freeborn County Fair. This is the type of community partnership which leads to prevention and reduction of youth use. FC-PIP is very thankful to Fountain Centers and we look forward to our continued partnership.
