October meeting
The Freeborn 4-H Club met for the first time in the new 4-H year at 5 p.m. Oct. 23, 2011, at the Freeborn Legion Hall. The meeting was conducted by Key Leader Sandy Andersen. In addition to the short meeting, this was the Halloween Party. The Roll Call was “What is your favorite Halloween Costume?” There was no secretary or treasurer’s reports.
Andersen welcomed the Rick and Kim Redman family. Abbey is the newest member and is in third grade.
A thank you note was received from the American Red Cross for the five tie blankets that the group donated to the Albert Lea Red Cross. The blankets were appreciated and will be used for disaster victims.
Andersen handed out the enrollment information. The information showed how to enroll project interests online.
With no other new business, the meeting was adjourned.
Following the meeting there were Halloween activity sheets available. Also, there were Halloween crafts to make. Lunch was provided by each family bringing a Halloween treat. Gummy worm punch was provided by the club.
