Lines on the map move side to side

In 2010, the Albert Lea Tribune endorsed Richard Murray as House District 27A representative saying that he would work across party lines. His ineffective role during the state government shutdown demonstrated that the Tribune was misled in that assessment of Murray. Now we know that not only does Murray not care to work across party lines, he does not want to work across county lines either, or at least some county lines.
Art Anderson’s recent letter to the editor shed needed light on the manipulations of Murray, Alan Arends and the politically ambitious Matthew Benda. I checked the facts a little further. Following a hearing of the redistricting panel, the Mankato Free Press reported, “A large contingent of Albert Lea residents spoke in favor of ending a four-decade marriage of that city and Austin in a single Senate district. Several said Albert Lea has less in common with Austin than it does with rural areas to the west, with some specifically mentioning Blue Earth and southern Waseca and Blue Earth counties.”
Here is a question to potential voters in Waseca and Blue Earth counties. Does this sound like the kind of representation you would want? Thank you to Art Anderson for getting the facts out.
