Our family just returned from a Serving Our Troops event in St. Paul. This is a group of volunteers who have been serving steak dinners to families of deployed troops since 2004. With today’s event, they have served over 55,000 steaks to not just soldiers’ loved ones but also to our deployed soldiers. As we were sitting down to dinner today, our soldiers in Kuwait were also being served the same meal. This is the third time our family has attended this event and each time I am amazed at the dedication of the organizers and volunteers as well as all the Minnesota businesses willing to donate their time and money to show their appreciation of our local soldiers. As was stated today by an officer serving in Kuwait, the Minnesota soldiers are the envy of all the troops serving. What a great place to live and many thanks!
