ST. PETER — A 29-year-old North Mankato man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the Sept. 22, 2010, murder of his infant son.
Farris pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in November for killing his son, Dawson. The boy had injuries to his head and body when Farris brought him to the hospital. Investigators later learned Farris had caused the injuries that resulted in he child’s death.
Sentencing, which was Tuesday, was delayed for Christopher Farris so his attorney could argue for a lesser sentence during a Jan. 27 hearing. The attorney had requested a 10-year sentence. Farris could be placed on supervised release after serving 10 years in prison.
