Funeral services for Ralph E. Boverhuis will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hollandale Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Tim Diehl and the Rev. Michael Bentley will officiate. Interment will be in the Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Boverhuis

Ralph Eugene Boverhuis of Appleton, Wis., 72, passed away peacefully on Feb. 2, 2012, at home with his family, after a long battle with emphysema. Ralph was born Jan. 29, 1940, in Platte, S.D., and grew up in Hollandale. Ralph married Patricia Dunson on Sept. 3, 1983, in Sacramento, Calif. He enjoyed cooking, playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his family. Ralph retired in 2005 as senior vice President from M.J. Electric LLC of Iron Mountain, Mich. The PCI Division of that company was his creation. Ralph believed in solving problems and he spent his life doing just that in his work and for his family.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Boverhuis; his children: Ron and wife, Roxanne Boverhuis, of Glenwood, Iowa, Bonnie and husband, Brian Kunkel, of Coon Rapids, and Barbi and husband, Kwandee Martinez, of Greenbrae, Calif.; grandchildren: Lisa, Ron, Ryan, Jodi, Kylee, Dallas and Sam; great-grandchildren: Brianna, Julianne, Emma, Shawna, Addison, Tyler, Jeremy and Lydia; brothers and sisters: Harold (Jean) Boverhuis, Jen (Paul) Eekhoff, Grace (Dean) Bos, Terri Weeks and her daughter, Kim, Marlene Passow; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents: Reinder and Louise (DeBoer) Boverhuis; brothers: Howard and Bernard; and grandson, Shawn.
