ROCHESTER — The condition of a 2-year-old boy stabbed at his Rochester home is improving, while the man accused in the attack is facing charges.

Family members say the toddler has had three surgeries. The boy’s grandmother said her grandson’s condition has been upgraded from critical to serious.

A criminal complaint charging 23-year-old Antonio Deshawn Roebuck said the boy was stabbed four times in the chest last Thursday. Roebuck is also charged with stabbing a 26-year-old man at the apartment in the abdomen and back.

Investigators say Roebuck is a former boyfriend of the child’s mother. An Olmsted County District Court judge set bail for Roebuck at $1 million Monday.
