First Lutheran Church Women met at 1:15 p.m. in Bethany Hall on March 14.

Co-President Gen Montei welcomed everyone and led the group in reciting the purpose statement.

Devotions were given by Jenny Edwin. Marlene Behle introduced Julia Tender and she sang three songs.

Marion Drescher introduced the program “Sharing Art” by Harlan Bang. He displayed beautiful pictures that he had painted in water colors and oil. He has done this since retiring. He had a story and basis for each picture.

Co-President Elaine Peterson conducted the business meeting. The secretary’s report for February was approved as printed unanimously and will be placed on file.

The treasurer’s report: In the absence of the treasurer and assistant treasurer, Peterson gave the report. Lorraine Bakken made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as reported. Nancy Jensen seconded the report. Motion carried. The report will be placed on file for audit.

Peterson suggested to everyone to pick up items from the food safety class that was well-attended. Also, to pick up the annual report that has been printed for all to have.

Peterson also reported that the group now has 11 of the 12 aprons back.

Old business: The blood mobile was held on Feb. 17. Collected were 40 units, six were first-time donors and two were denied.

Donna Ludtke made a motion to order 100 more white coffee cups for Bethany Hall. Seconded by Neva Mathison. Motion carried. Marge Moine will place the order.

New business: Lorraine Christensen sent a check for $200 for the new lefse grills. The grills were in very poor condition. Sue Olson will send Christensen a thank you.

Peterson read the correspondence in the absence of Lois Jensen as follows:

Thank you from Marge Moine for the angel she received from the church women for being co-president last year.

Donna Ludtke and Neva Mathison are working on a list of men who will help with clean up after some large social events and funerals as some have in the past.

No parlor updates at this time.

Caring & Sharing: Co-chairs Barb Andersen and Janice Tukua and their committee served two funerals in February.

Maundy Thursday, April 5, Easter Homebound/Shut-In-Coffee time at 9:30 a.m. and communion service at 10:30 a.m. Maundy Thursday Service with Communion at 7 p.m. (First Communion for some)

Good Friday, April 6, service at 7 p.m.

Resurrection Sunday, April 8, 6 a.m. sunrise service, festival worship services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Egg Bake Breakfast from 6:45 to 9:30 a.m. (All services with Holy Communion)

Concluding the meeting the Lord’s Prayer was recited and the group sang the Table Prayer. Lunch was served.
