Haynes offsets Behling, Gruenes

This is a belated response to the two columns by educators David Behling and Jeremy Corey-Gruenes printed two weeks ago in the Tribune. They wrote in defense of the recently passed law mandating that Catholic institutions provide insurance coverage for contraceptives and abortion inducing drugs for liberated women in violation of Catholic moral code.

Charles C. Haynes takes on this issue in the Tribune March 15 edition. He intelligently explains why this law, which shows contempt for religious conscience, seriously violates the First Amendment’s freedom of religion in the Constitution.

I suggest that Mr. Behling and Mr. Gruenes read this column, digest it and then show enough integrity to admit their errors.
