The Alden-Conger girls’ basketball team on Jan. 26 hosted its Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser during its game against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Freeborn County Relay for Life. Members of the team collected pledges from people and businesses, and on the day of the game the team held a raffle and also donated the proceeds from the concessions stand to the cause. The total amount raised was $2,700.
