Minnesota Spay and Neuter Assistance Program returned to Albert Lea Armory for the second time. The traveling hospital truck was sponsored by the Freeborn County Humane Society and The National Guard Unit Delta Company 2-135.. The program offers low cost spay, neutering, innoculations, rabies vaccines and microchipping for qualifying families. On March 24 they spent the whole day and well into the evening providing these services to a record number of 47 animals. These families no longer have to worry about their pets having unwanted litters and have reduced the unwanted pet population in the community at an affordable cost.

The Humane Society would like to thank the program workers Dr. Lisa McCargar, Jo LePage, Amy Travers, Mallory Eiynck and their volunteer Deb who worked tirelessly through the day to care for all these animals. The Society would also like to thank Green Mill and Quiznos for their food donations which fed the workers and volunteers.
