These are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377- 7433.
Freeborn County Cancer Bike-A-Thon: You and possibly a team are invited to do the 40th anniversary ride for the Cancer Bike-A-Thon at 6 a.m. May 5. The ride starts at Sibley Elementary School’s warming house.
Registration nights are 5 to 7 p.m. May 3 and 4 at the Skyline Plaza. Call LeAnn Juveland 402-6960 to help with the registrations and Pat Stumme at 377-7433 to help host returning riders at the warming house. Let’s make history and fight cancer at the same time!
Family Fun Fair: Come celebrate with young families as they learn of all the Freeborn County groups who can lend a hand during the early years, birth through age 8. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21 at Northbridge Mall. You can help for a couple hours or the whole time, just call Pat Stumme at 377-7433 to connect with the Family Fun Fair. It’s a rain or shine event.
RSVP, sponsored by Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
