Collection of Dr. Thoburn and Marjorie Thompson to be featured
The Art Center is honored to present “One Mission, Two Lives,” an exhibit featuring the art collection of Dr. Thoburn and Marjorie Thompson.
People from the community know the Thompsons as generous and caring humanitarians who have dedicated their lives in service to others. During their life of service, the Thompsons have acquired many beautiful and unique artifacts from South America and their travels all over the world that they are now generously allowing the art center to exhibit in our galleries.
An open house will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday when Dr. Thompson will be on hand to add depth and perspective to the extensive collection of beautiful and one-of-a-kind articles on exhibit.
The exhibit will continue on display through May 26 during regularly scheduled Art Center hours, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.

The Albert Lea Art Center will present the first lecture in a series for 2012 at 7 p.m. Thursday. Special guest Terry Lemer will instruct the audience on the process of creating stained glass art by demonstrating the equipment used and how to score (cut) glass.
