Boy Scouts go camping as often as possible, both in the summer and in the winter. This provides the best opportunity for the boys to learn leadership through team work and team building and develop both scouting and life skills for when they grow up; not to mention it is a lot of fun.

Scouts enjoy trying out new activities like white water rafting.

Without Scouting and the people who support it, some of these boys would never get to go camping and be a part of the great outdoors.

High adventure Scout camps really enhance this experience since the boys are often out of their element and need to learn to depend on one another. These camps also provide ways to earn the merit badges they need to advance their rank or maybe even become an Eagle Scout. However, the cost involved in sending a Scout to camp can be high.

This year, in addition to their regular camps the boys of Troop 7 are going to the Bahamas to a place called Sea Base. Sea Base is one of four high adventure scout camps in the country. This will be an incredible opportunity for the boys as they will actually crew the sailing ship under orders from the captain and learn about ocean wildlife; and they need your help to get there.

The boys have put together a little fundraiser and are counting on you for support. From 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, the Pizza Ranch at Northbridge Mall has agreed to let the boys bus the tables and do clean up. Pizza Ranch will donate between 10 and 15 percent of all of the money from pizza sold.

The troop hopes you’ll come out to enjoy some good pizza, let them do all the cleanup and help them raise money to have some new experiences.
