Boy injured in crash

A 12-year-old boy received minor injuries Tuesday afternoon after he was reportedly hit by a car while riding his bike.

According to police, Peyton John McCune was transported by private vehicle to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

The crash took place at about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Broadway Avenue and Third Street.

Police stated the car, driven by Jeremy David Johnson, was stopped on Third Street at the intersection, and McCune was going southbound on Broadway Avenue on the west sidewalk. There is dispute about who was at fault in the crash.

 

Motorcycle reported stolen

A 1990 white and blue Suzuki motorcycle was reported taken from the front yard of 13783 760th Ave., south of Albert Lea, at 8:01 p.m. Tuesday. The report stated the motorcycle had been stolen sometime after 4:30 p.m. that day.

 

Man cited for burning violations

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies cited Roger Leroy Broitzman at 10:54 a.m. Tuesday for burning prohibited materials and burning without a permit at 83421 130th St., southwest of Glenville. The Freeborn County sheriff over the weekend issued a suspension on all burning permits because of dry conditions.

 

Semitrailers broken into

Semitraliers owned by Dairyland Power were reported broken into near the intersection of 830th Avenue and 140th Street, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. Padlocks were reported cut and items messed with in the trailers.

 

Trailer stolen

A car hauler trailer was reported stolen from 77917 209th St. in Albert Lea at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.
