CARLTON — A Carlton County judge has sentenced a Cloquet man to 60 years in prison for his role in a double-homicide last year in Cromwell.

Friday’s sentence for 29-year-old Joshua David Martineau was part of a plea deal that also calls for 20 years of probation after he serves at least 40 years.

Martineau pleaded guilty to two counts of intentional second degree murder one week ago, admitting to shooting Tom Holm and his girlfriend Kim Schmidt during a robbery in their home in January of 2011. Both victims were 53.
