Memorial services for Marcella Anne Ferrie, age 74, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be at St. Theodore’s Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. Marcella died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

Marcella Anne Ferrie was born on Aug. 6, 1937, to William, Sr. and Lillian (Stepan) Chihak in Iowa. She grew up in Lourdes, Iowa. Marcie graduated from high school in Elma, Iowa, where she was chosen as Miss Elma. On Nov. 21, 1955, she was united in marriage to Arthur Ferrie. The couple moved to Albert Lea where Art worked for the Postal Service. After retirement Marcie and Art enjoyed their time together in Ocala, Fla. Marcie was an active member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed rummage sales, sewing, reading, shopping and loved visiting with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include her children, Steve Ferrie and his wife Cindy, their children Savannah and Jessica of Lake City, Fla., Rick Ferrie and his wife Kelly, their children Stephanie and Logan of Albert Lea, David Ferrie and his son Christopher of Ft. Myers, Fla., Mike Ferrie and his children Rikki and Elliott of Tallahassee, Fla., William Ferrie and his wife Desiree, their children Jackson, Cooper and Charlotte of Kansas City, and Liz Ferrie of Tallahassee, Fla.; sisters Evelyn, Elsie, Betty, Virginia and Jane; brothers Ed, William, Jr. and Raymond; many nieces and nephews.

Marcie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Art in 1992 and son Tim in 2002.
