“The Prayer Warrior” is the true story of handicapped Christian Elden Shisler and his amazing prayer life. Born a hillbilly during the Great Depression, never finishing high school, and never having a good career job, Elden still goes on to “move mountains” with his persistent pleas to the almighty.

Buck was born in Minneapolis. His family moved to Austin when he was 3 years old. He lived in Austin until age 6, at which time his family moved back to the Twin Cities area. When Buck was in high school, his father got a job in Danville, Ill., and moved the Buck family to Illinois.

Buck is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. After retiring from a career selling life and health insurance, he has gone on to pursue his love of writing in his retirement years. Buck pastors a nondenominational home fellowship in Freeport, Ill. He is a board member of the Freeport Christian High School Association, a nonprofit organization that is working to establish a Christian high school in Freeport. He is also a national board member of the Bible Sabbath Association. He and his wife, Emily, now reside in Freeport, Ill. They have two children and five grandchildren, all residing in northern Illinois.
