ST. PAUL — Gov. Mark Dayton has released his fundraising to date for 2012 showing he collected almost $83,000 and spent about $63,000 of it, leaving about $20,000 in the bank.
Dayton’s campaign committee released the figures Friday. He is not required by law to do so, but the Democratic governor has been an advocate for increased campaign finance disclosure. He supports legislation that would require quarterly reporting for state campaigns that raise more than $5,000 even in non-election years.
The report released Friday covers the period of Jan. 1 to March 31, 2012.
