A semitrailer accidentally hit a railroad stop arm, causing the arm to fall to the road before the train ran over it around 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to police reports. The incident at Margaretha Avenue and South Broadway Avenue was reported to Union Pacific.

 

Shoplifting reported

Bergen Ashleigh Taggart, 20, was reportedly shoplifting at Walmart around 8 p.m. Wednesday, and, according to police reports, she was held for bail for misdemeanor theft.

 

Possible fight reported

Around 12:30 a.m. today Albert Lea police were notified of a female trying to fight with three people at 134 W. William St., or outside The Nasty Habit bar. Police reports showed there were no weapons.
