Firefighters douse a fire on a semitrailer Monday on East Main Street in front of Hanson Tire, producing steam. The two truckers said they were headed north on Interstate 35 to Thief River Falls. As they were passing Albert Lea they heard a loud noise and the truck started shaking. They got off the freeway at Exit 11 and turned toward downtown after seeing a sign. Eventually, they parked in front of Hanson Tire. The trailer’s brakes had caught fire. A manager at Hanson Tire put the truckers in touch with Crossroads Trailer.
