Theresa Thorman, 87, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Theresa Thorman of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Home in Albert Lea with a scripture prayer service at 6 p.m. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.

Theresa passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Home. She was 87 years of age.

Theresa was born June 21, 1924, in Faulkton, S.D., the daughter of Henry and Marie (Meier) Meyer.

She was united in marriage to Robert J. Thorman Feb. 1, 1947, at the Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis.

Before her marriage she worked as an office secretary in Lemmon, S.D., Gettysburg, S.D., Worthington, the University of Minnesota and Cargill, Inc. in Minneapolis. After moving to Albert Lea with her husband in 1947 she was employed at Queen Stove and American Gas until 1956.

She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea.

Her hobbies were going to rummage sales to buy and sell antiques and collectibles. She also enjoyed planting flower gardens and working crossword puzzles.

Theresa is survived by one son, Gary Thorman of Staples and one daughter, Debra (Robert) Morgan of Austin; four grandchildren, Mary, Tim (Ashley), Peter and Melissa and her special friend Tristan. There is one great grandchild, Emma. One sister, Margaret Benning of Mountain View, Calif.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 1992, son Steven, two sisters Betty Ewan and Dorothy Babcock, one brother Vincent Meyer and one grandson David Thorman.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Park Place and St. John’s Lutheran Home where they loved and cared for her the last 10 years.
