Trinity Church Women met for their annual salad luncheon on April 4. Bev Jackson Cotter, co-president, gave the welcome, and LeAnn Juveland led in devotions. The table prayer was sung accompanied by Dorie Schou at the piano. Schou also provided piano music before and during the lunch.
Following a delicious lunch, Jan Drews announced the program. Rachel Christensen, who is a certified harp practitioner at Good Samaritan Society, gave a beautiful program and answered questions.
Co-President Ema Berthelsen called the meeting to order. Secretary LaVonne Eggers read the Dec. 7, 2011, minutes, which were placed on file. Treasurer Marcia Petersen gave the treasurer’s report that showed a balance of $921.34.
Juveland gave a report on safe ways to serve food and answered questions. Berthelsen called for volunteers for the nominating committee, and there were none. The board will have to appoint.
The following announcements were made:
Wednesday: Sewing Day
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. Berc will be at Ascension Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.: Open house wedding shower for Jennifer Bartholomy in Jacobsen Hall
Tuesday through Thursday: No Bake Sale event
May 10 at 9:30 a.m.: Pack Kits
May 19: Lutheran World Relief van at First Lutheran.
Circles are reminded to buy supplies for packing kits; the group has a need for someone with a serger to sew the bottom of onesies.
Virginia Plantage gave the offering meditation, Eggers and Juveland were the ushers. Berthelsen thanked the Mary Circle and Juveland for serving.
The meeting ended with the Lord’s Prayer.
