Jean Marie Waage, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 8, 1940, to Gilbert H. and Harriet L. (Nelson) Larson, and grew up on the family farm near Lerdal.

She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1958. Jean and Michael Waage married Dec. 19, 1958; they had two children. Their family moved to Tucson in 1973, where Jean worked as office manager for Michael’s Manufacturing. For many years, she was an administrative assistant at Tucson Medical Center.

She is survived by her mother, Harriet Larson, of Lerdal; son, Brent; daughter, Jill (Don) Chantengco; grandchildren, Ashlee Kramer, Martika Holguin and Dane Michael Chantengco; brothers, Jerry (Ellen), Larry (Sharon), sister Cindy (Danny) Lee; and many nieces and nephews. Gail Kramer and Angela Lopez also survive her. Her father, Gilbert Larson and her former husband, Mike Waage, preceded Jean in death. At her request, her remains were donated to medical science; interment services are pending.
