Nice to know

As Memorial Day approaches, everyone looks forward to the beginning of summer and the many events and festivals that will be held in Albert Lea.

The Wind Down Wednesday Committee, Downtown Association and the city of Albert Lea worked together to coordinate hanging baskets and planters on Broadway Avenue.

These beautiful baskets and planters in the downtown serves as a “floral billboard” to show a healthy, thriving business core and serves as a backdrop for our summer events. Our hometown pride really shows not only for our residents, but also to our visitors and prospective businesses.

We would like to say thank you to Girl Scout leader MaChar Kingstrom and her troop for planting the planters and Hilltop Gardens for providing all the flowers for the planters and planting the hanging pots. A special thanks to the city of Albert Lea for hanging and watering our beautiful flowers.
