LITTLE CANADA — A pickup truck has crashed into a Twin Cities bar, sending five patrons to the hospital.
A Ramsey County sheriff’s spokesman says the pickup crashed into Gordie’s Place in Little Canada about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A sheriff’s deputy was passing by and saw the woman’s eastbound pickup cross the westbound lanes, take out a utility pole and then crash well into the side of the bar.
Several people were briefly trapped at the bar.
Five people in the bar were taken to a hospital, two with serious injuries. The 51-year-old driver also was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries or a possible medical complication.
Authorities say medical reasons apparently contributed to the crash.
