The Albert Lea baseball team played Faribault at Hayek Field Tuesday, and won 3-2 in the first game of a double header.
The Tigers scored one run during the first and second innings giving them a two-run lead over Faribault. Faribault answered back and scored a run during the third and fifth innings tying the game, but the Tigers were determined to win.
In the seventh inning Houston Sharpe received a walk-off hit, bringing in Ethan Abben from second base and winning the game.
Tigers coach Joe Sczublewski said Dylan See-Rockers pitched a strong first game and was credited for being the winning pitcher.
Faribault came back strong during the second game, winning 12-9 over Albert Lea.
“We gave them too big of a lead to overcome,” Sczublewski said.
The Tigers will play at home again on Thursday at 5 p.m. against Rochester Century.
