Warren Greenfield, 61, Alden

Funeral services for Warren Lyle Greenfield, 61, of Alden, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Mansfield Lutheran Church. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be at Mansfield Cemetery. Greenfield

Warren died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea from liver cancer.

Warren Lyle Greenfield was born on Jan. 25, 1951, to Lyle and Laverna (Yost) Greenfield in Albert Lea. He grew up in the Alden area graduating from Alden High School. On Oct. 11, 1969, he married Karen Hacker; they later divorced. Warren spent his life farming and also worked at the Conger Creamery, for Hemmingsen’s Transfer hauling freight, driving school bus and was the head of maintenance at the Alden-Conger school. Warren enjoyed restoring his Model A and working on old tractors. He liked riding his Harley and watching his nephew, Travis, race stock cars. He also enjoyed going on many fishing trips to Canada. Warren was a member of Mansfield Lutheran Church. He had been a volunteer firefighter in Alden and also served on the Alden Township Board for 14 years. Blessed be his memory.

Survivors include his mother, Laverna of Alden; children: Dyon (Wendy) Greenfield of Alden and their children: Ethan and Kate, Linnea (Mike) Petersen of Alden and their children: Riley and Ali-Jean; sister Mavis Chaloner of Albert Lea and her children: Chris Chaloner, Darren (Julie) Chaloner and family, Devin (Sheryl) Chaloner and family; brother Lynn (Jean) Greenfield of Alden and their son, Travis Greenfield; and his special friend Gennifer Burgett.

Warren was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Lyle; aunts and uncles: Lester and Ruth Greenfield, Gertrude and Ernest Hensche and Adolf Greenfield; brother-in-law, Phillip Chaloner; uncle, Franklin Enser; and special family friend, Kenneth Puser.
