Alden residents were without phone service Wednesday night after a phone line was accidentally cut, according to officials.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office sent out a notification about the outage just before 7:30 p.m. and stated service was expected to be restored by Frontier Communications by 9 p.m.

The outage also affected the ability to make 911 calls.
