Florence Lorna (Seuser) Bothof, 91, of Prior Lake, formerly of Hollandale, “flew away” on Wednesday, May 30, 2012.

She was preceded in death by Johnny, her beloved husband of 54 years; parents Gay and Grace (Resor) Seuser; seven brothers and sisters; and daughter-in-law Robbin.

She is survived by brother Duane Seuser; her children: Cynthia (Dennis) Schmidt, Timothy (Mary) Bothof, Rebecca Fairchild, Elizabeth (John) Wood, Thomas Bothof and Barbara (Roger) Hoeve; grandchildren: Michael and Paul Bothof, Zachary Hessel, Angela Coleman, Matthew, Shawn, Alyssa and David Wood, Christopher and Corey Hoeve, Nicole Schmidt, Angela Reinke, Zachary and Eric Hansberger; great-grandchildren Makenze Coleman, Sophia and Carson Bothof, Ethan Hoeve, Charlotte Hessel, Parker and Hadley Reinke and Miles Bothof; and honorary grandchildren: Shane Goodman, Zachary Sloan and Natasha Flickstein; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Shellrock Township on Jan. 21, 1921, Lorna lived most of her early life in Albert Lea. Married to her “sweetheart” Johnny in 1941, they moved to Hollandale where their dream of raising six children was realized. Upon their retirement, they moved to the Minneapolis area to happily live out their remaining years surrounded by family and friends.

Lorna’s greatest love, besides her dearest Johnny, was caring for children, for whom she had a gift of unlimited patience and deep understanding. An avid collector of dolls, toys, books and games, she cherished her time sharing them with the many children whose lives she touched.

Lorna was a kind and gentle person who was always able to recognize the good in others. Throughout her life she was filled with boundless curiosity and a passion for learning. In her senior years she blessed her family and friends with her wisdom, knowledge and sense of humor. The memory of her beautiful and tender spirit resides within our hearts.

A celebration of Lorna’s life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Minnesota Masonic Home, 11501 Masonic Home Drive, Bloomington. Memorials preferred to Children’s Home Society, 1605 Eustis Street, St. Paul, Minnesota 55108.
