Hundreds without power in Albert Lea

More than 500 Albert Lea Alliant Energy customers were without power Monday afternoon after two of the company’s power lines were damaged.
Alliant Energy spokesman Justin Foss said the lines were reported damaged on the 300 block of Second Street — just south of The Children’s Center — at about 2:20 p.m. He was not sure what blocks or streets were affected.
Foss said he guessed the lines had been pulled together by some trees, causing them to burn.
Power was expected to be restored by suppertime.
Two other unrelated single outages were also reported Monday. He was unsure about the cause of those outages.
