Nancy Haskins, 46, Austin

Memorial services for Nancy Jo Haskins of Austin will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. George Marin will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Nancy died Friday, June 8, 2012, at her home in Austin, she was 46 years of age.

Nancy was born Nov. 7, 1965, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Mervil “Red” and Betty (Ashpole) Christian. She was a graduate of Emmons High School and attended college in Winona for massage therapy. On July 2, 1997, she was united in marriage to Michael Haskins in Winona.
Nancy had been a member of the Silver Lake Lutheran Church and was employed by the Gerard Academy in Austin as a counselor. She was a member of AA, loved gardening, decorating, collage, painting and all animals.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Michael of Austin; parents, Red and Betty Christian; siblings: Victoria (Fred Ostrowski) Hanson, of Otsego, Judy (Larry) Christensen of Albert Lea, Mike (Marlene) Christian of Northwood, Iowa, Kurt Christian of Albert Lea and Mark (Sharon) Christian of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law: Joe (Kim) Haskins, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dave (Leah) Haskins of Minneapolis; sisters-in-law: Melissa Haskins Dahl of Portland, Ore., Peggy Haskins Murphy of Portland, Ore., Beth (Danny) Talamantes of Albert Lea, Amy Haskins of Portland, Ore., and Julie (Roman Gomez) Haskins of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Robert (Ruth) Haskins of Albert Lea.

She was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Kassi.
