Park at school like an adult

Hawthorne School is receiving new air conditioning in the building this summer, so I’ve heard. Right now there are about four semitrailers parked on the blacktop the kids use for basketball, and I hope that the blacktop can hold up to that weight, especially when it gets hot. Then when I drove by Saturday, there were about seven to eight cars parked on the lawn near the front door of the school.
If these cars belonged to the workers, they need to find better parking spots. The green grass is not a parking lot, and if the parking lot is full out back, park on the street. You could be leaking oil, antifreeze or any other type of fluid on the grass, plus setting a very bad example for other drivers who now think you can park on the grass near the front door if you don’t want to walk too far.
It’s time to start acting like a adult and parking your car on the street. I’m sorry if it gets too hot, but that is no reason to find yourself a spot under a tree on the lawn. So start parking where you’re supposed to, not where you aren’t supposed to.
