A Glenville woman was injured Monday afternoon after being flung off a wooden buggy led by two horses southeast of Glenville.
Freeborn County Patrol Sgt. Tim Bennett said Mary Schreiber, 57, was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries that were not life-threatening.
She was reportedly riding in the buggy with Susan Locking, 52, of Farmington, on 840th Avenue south of 130th Street when the horses reportedly passed a combine cutting hay, got spooked and went into the ditch. The wagon subsequently went into the ditch and the horses broke off from the wagon.
The women were both flung off the wagon.
Locking was uninjured.
Bennett said the black Friesian horses were found about two miles west of the scene on 820th Avenue.
The incident reportedly took place at 12:40 p.m.
