1 injured in 4-car pileup

NEW RICHLAND — One person was injured Friday after a rear-end collision with four cars on Highway 13 between New Richland and Waseca.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash reportedly took place at about 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of 260th Avenue and Highway 13.

The pileup began after Alexander Anderson, 24, of Albert Lea, was driving a 2008 Ford F350 and reportedly rear-ended a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Garrick Bradford, 21, of Nevada, Iowa.

The Cobalt was reportedly pushed into a 2007 Dodge Caravan, driven by Kimberly Albers, 47, of Ankeny, Iowa, which was then pushed into a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero driven by 15-year-old Arin Boese, of Waseca.

All of the vehicles were southbound on Highway 13. Boese was reportedly stopped to make a left turn onto 260th Avenue in Waseca County. She had two adult passengers.

Injured was Kaitlyn Albers, 18, of Ankeny, Iowa, who was a passenger in the second car. Reports indicated her injuries were not life-threatening.

None of the other drivers or passengers were injured.

Assisting at the scene was the Waseca County Sheriff’s Office, the New Richland Fire Department, New Richland ambulance crews, North ambulance and Mayo Air Care.
