American Legion Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary held its 93rd state convention in Morton on July 19-21.

Auxiliary members from Glenville, representing the American Legion Auxiliary No. 264 were Sandy Fredrickson and Cindy Nelson.

Linda Thompson of Otsego, state president of American Legion Auxiliary presided. Gary Revier, the mayor of the city of Morton, honorary department junior president, Ameia Tesdahl, a member of the St. Francis Unit No. 522, brought greetings from the Junior Auxiliary. Junior Auxiliary members are under the age of 18. Greetings were also brought by the 2012 Governor of Minnesota Girls State, Oluwatunmise Fawole of Osseo. Keynote speaker was the national president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Kris Nelson of Baxter.

Special highlights of this convention were that Minnesota now has a department website. A reminder to all members, “the future success of the ALA,” is membership. If interested please contact a group member.

The newly elected officers for 2012-13, American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Minnesota are: Raleen Tolzmann, department president of Clevelend; Shirley Frederick, department vice president of Hackensack; and Chris Ronning, department second vice president of Osseo.
