Do you bank in the Caymans?

This letter is in response to the letter to the editor of Thomas Schleck dated July 12, 2012.

Republican Legislature. You cite Rich Murray as the source of your opinion that the Minnesota Legislature did a fine job fighting the deficit. Consider the source. Does funding state government by borrowing constitute responsible governing? If you really believe that Murray lowered your taxes, take a look at your real estate tax statement.

Marriage by the well-off. This paragraph is so amazing that I recommend it to all who have any lingering hope for the social conscience of Republicans. Government help for poor people is cited as the reason that they have children without benefit of marriage. I wonder what Jesus would do, kick them to the curb? By the way, how would you explain all of the kids of well-off families who have children without the benefit of marriage?

President Obama. There is no doubt that your Republican cronies want to convince us that Obama is a bad president. Never mind that the Republican Congress set out from day one to do all they could to sabotage his presidency. The American people know Obama inherited a bad economy from his Republican predecessor. Remember that when Clinton handed the keys to the White House to Bush, we had a budget surplus. After eight years of Bush, the national deficit was a mess. The alleged job-growing history of Romney is a joke. Not many of us bank in the Cayman Islands like Romney. Does he sound like someone ready to invest in America?

The balance of Schleck’s hysterical diatribe deserves comment, but that is best left for another day.
