Jesus probably doesn’t like labels

I hate to see David Larson once again tag Jesus as a liberal. For some reason I doubt that either the Son or Father would enjoy having labels slapped on them, especially for political reasons.
When those two people in the garden were told to not take from the tree lest they die, their arrogant attitudes made them believe they wouldn’t die and they’d be like God. That sounds a lot like liberal Oprah Winfrey and her spiritual advisers; “We’re all gods.” Then there are the stories we know of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, Babylon, etc., where people continued their scoffing, arrogant, sinful ways. What was the common ending to those stories? The Almighty showed his intolerance with total smackdowns. Based on what today’s liberals say, this would make the God of Abraham a conservative who is an intolerant hater and bigot.
Now we have the “liberal” Jesus. As a group, liberals are the ones who wrap their arms around abortion even though the Almighty said (to Jeremiah) “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” According to studies, conservatives give 30 percent more to charities than liberals, yet liberals earn approximately 6 percent more. By the way, Obama (a liberal/socialist) gave only 1 percent to charity from 2000 to 2004 and increased it only when he started his run for presidency. Obama has said, “We are our brother’s keeper,” yet even with his millions he does nothing to help his half-brother and aunt who live in abject poverty. “Oh ye hypocrites.”
Many liberal Christians believe (like Obama) that other religions are just as valid as Christianity and that there are ways to salvation other than through Christ. Put all these things together and we could have a Jesus (as a liberal of today) who is a tightwad toward charity, would drive his girlfriend to the abortion clinic, be the quintessential rebellious son who believes not in his own atonement and then shrugs-off “Thou shalt have no other gods.” Jesus is a liberal? OK, whatever.
It appears that Mr. Larson equates the word liberal with the compassionate and forgiving nature of Jesus — a big mistake. Americans would do well to study and learn how liberalism, progressivism, social justice, etc., has deceived and blinded many to a point that leads to subjugation, diminution of religious (usually Judeo/Christian) rights and countless deaths (over 150 million and surpassed only by a particular religion of peace). It all can lead to godless Marxism and communism, but first there’s the very, very slippery slope of socialism. America is currently on that socialism slide.
The Almighty and his Son are far removed from being labeled liberal or conservative. On judgment day, I wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of those who chose to do so.
