Save cottage at Edgewater Park

We had our family reunion on July 7 and were fortunate to be able to still use the cottage at Edgewater Park. We had family from Arizona, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and, of course, Minnesota. No one could believe that this wonderful building was being considered for demolition. We were able to sit outside on three sides of the cottage, in the shade from all the trees, with a nice cool breeze from, and a great view of, the lake. It was hard for us to understand why anyone would prefer to be inside with air conditioning? It was cool and shady enough for the youngsters to enjoy the nearby playground equipment.
The building looks fine to me, but I understand there might be some structural problems. I am wondering how much money it would cost to do whatever repairs need to be done. Maybe we could have a fundraiser like we do for other projects. I think this cottage has character and needs to be restored and preserved.
